Number of Cycles, Deliveries, and Babies

Transcript

This graphic depicts several important trends in IVF care. The number of cycles performed and reported to SART continues to increase. Reasons for this trend include embryo banking, donor cycles, and fertility preservation.

The number of deliveries and babies born is increasing more slowly because more eggs and embryos are being stored for future use. The number of infants is only slightly higher than the number of deliveries because more pregnancies are the result of single embryo transfer. The use of pre-implantation genetic testing has allowed more patients to transfer a single embryo, reducing the risk of multiple births after IVF cycles.
